Wedding countdown
How long until you say “I do”, down to the second, plus what you should be working on right now.

Making the most of the months you have
A long countdown is a gift: it means first choice of dates from the most in-demand vendors and time to save rather than borrow. A short one means being decisive. Either way, the order matters more than the time. Lock the budget and guest list before the venue, the venue before the vendors, and the RSVPs before the seating chart.
Some couples also use the countdown to plan around the sky. If you want evening portraits by moonlight, or a dark sky for sparklers and stars, the Moon’s phase on your date matters as much as sunset time. A bright full moon washes out stars, while a thin crescent sets early. Why the Moon cycles through those shapes at all is neatly shown in ahaboo’s narrated explainer on Moon phases, worth a look before you ask your photographer about night shots.

Questions couples ask
How many days until our wedding?
Enter your date above. The countdown runs in your browser and updates every second, so it is always exact for your time zone.
Can I keep the countdown on my phone?
Yes. The date is saved on your device, so bookmark this page or add it to your home screen and it opens straight to your countdown.
What should we be doing at 100 days to go?
Around three months out, most couples are finalising the ceremony, ordering invitations to mail at six to eight weeks, buying bands and booking hair and makeup trials. The checklist shows exactly what is due.
